Organisational Development & Operational Management

Heads Up Kids is a small preventative mental health education charity. Using my extensive experience of working with small charities, I’m supporting their growth and development both operationally and strategically.

I’ve implemented Microsoft 365, and teams to improve IT and communications.
I’ve amalgamated all their data into a charity specific CRM (Donorfy), which will enable them to maintain and develop records and report accurately, as well as track fundraising opportunities and communications.
I’ve introduced automation to training bookings and follow-up for operational efficiency.
I’ve set up gift aid claims, and introduced fundraising platforms that will enable the charity to raise unrestricted funds at no cost to them.
I’ve developed a recruitment and introduction pack for new Trustees to strengthen the board and its governance.
I’ve implemented HR Policies to support the management and compliance of the charity.

CMV Action

CMV Action is the only UK Charity supporting families with Cytomegalovirus (CMV). I’m working with them to implement their 3 year strategy and support the operational development and growth of the charity following a period of change.

Focus on systems, capabilities, efficiency, governance, policies, networking, profile raising & meeting the charitable objectives.

Analysis, Evaluation & Impact:

I’m working alongside an Evaluation Team to support the evaluation and development of The Hearts & Minds Partnership. This is a partnership of two perinatal mental health charities, who have brought together a thriving community of grassroots perinatal mental health services, committed to sharing, learning and creating a coherent voice for the sector.

Being part of this team is a delight, evaluating the work of the partnership, being inspired by other VCSE organisations, and seeing meaningful impact and change across the sector.

Organisational Development

The work I did with The Phoenix Group for Deaf Children, combined my passion of communication support for d/Deaf people alongside organisational development as they transitioned from a small community group to become an established and thriving charity.

Organisational Development

The project I led for Hertfordshire County Council, was about listening and sharing employee voice as an independent consultant, to improve organisational culture and condition wthin Adult Care Services.

Charity Leadership & Management

I volunteer as a Trustee for ICP Support, ensuring that what we do as a charity complies with the charity governing document, the law and fulfils the Charities purposes for public benefit.

Working in the charity sector provides valuable insight and experience that is useful for board discussions and decisions. Understanding how charities operate, the challenges they face and the needs of beneficiaries enables me to make informed decisions and support the Charities aims and strategic direction confidently.

I also led on the conversion of the Charity from a Company Limited by Guarantee to a Charitable Incorporated Organisation that we are now.
